A quick summary of the last 6 weeks. . .

Let’s see - - the quick summary of my past 6 weeks. . .
April 14-17, 2009 I moved everything out of my old place. About a third of it went to my new office/art studio/sewing lab. Through a bizarre twist of fate, my bed ended up there as well which is convenient if I [...]

Poi-la-Hoop and Poi Practice Sets

First written week of March 23, 2009:
I’ve been on vacation this week — quite an interesting experience in and of itself. That, alas, for another post. This post is dedicated to the fun poi-la-hoop practice I had on the 25th (shortly after my 40th birthday) to “Tom Sawyer” remixed by Z-Trip. Fun, fun, fun! You [...]

Poi Video: GlitterGirl Practice Session

Recently my friend Julian suggested I post some poi practice videos on line, so I was inspired to do that. Rather than repost the entire thing here, I’ll direct you to the Temple of Poi blog where you can see the video or download it on the Temple of Poi Podcast

Very Cool T-Mobile Flash Mob

I love it when time, money and skill all come together to create a great piece of art. I thought this piece was well done and executed.

April 29: Temple of Poi 2007 Fire Dancing Expo

A grand success, even if I did set my costume on fire. Ironically, none of the beginners did it but a bunch of the pros did. . .

April 28: GlitterGirl and Fire Friends on KRON TV

My second television experience!

RamHawk: Blue Spiral

Temple of Poi performed today in Union Square. What an honor to once again get to support the San Francisco Food Bank’s Canned Food Drive! We also sold copies of the Temple of Poi 2006 Fire Dancing Expo DVD and donated a portion of the sales proceeds to the Food Bank as part of our [...]

A Children’s Party

Hunter (isn’t he hot? that picture is amazing!), Atreyu (who wore a mask which scared the children — but it was Halloween! aren’t masks okay?) and I were off to do a gig for a 6 year old.

I acquired this gig through a beautiful woman I met on the N line some months ago [...]

Exploring the Energetic Skin

I feel blessed to have met Atreyu. He is an amazing being with whom I resonate strongly. When I look in his eyes and he is looking back, I feel a timeless connection which lightens my soul and brightens my day. I experience our interactions as easy, fun, growth oriented — at the worst of [...]

3 Gigs in One Day

But only one makeup job. And yes, that necklace is painted on. It makes hooping so much easier and I had to hoop at all 3 gigs.

Gig Day

Done with that particular incarnation of a mohawk experiment, I was reinspired by the first day I had shaved my head. Unfortunately, I forgot to take the photo before the Gig, so this is the aftermath of sweat and performing and lost gems and decorations.

Sunset on the Beach

In retrospect, I suppose it would have made more sense to put this word of the day on my head the day we were making the hoops. Alas, that did not happen.

Lexi had her new hairdo going on with the awesome dye job Matthew and his assistant did for her — To [...]

Hoop Day

Today was a stay at home sort of day. We made hoops and then I gave the girls a hoop lesson. Later in the day we had a different sort of experience, introducing my nieces to raw food at Gratitude Cafe. And then we went on a car tour of the city where we [...]

What do you want to be when You grow up?

Other than my own job, I am not certain I could imagine a cooler job than the one Erin Glover has. She is the CEO and Founder of FirePixie Entertainment, a fabulous entertainment company which specializes in children’s parties. Which means people pay Erin and other similarly talented actors, to attend their Children’s parties and [...]
